PS3 vs. 360.....why?!

At times I do fall in the rapture of "Fanboyism". N4G should be a haven for gamers who keep their eyes open and ears to the ground for news in the gaming industry. We are a informative community that do report good stories. But on the flipside of that coin, there is "Hate"! You see the bloodline of Sony and MS drawn everyday with head lines like these....

"Top ## reasons why **** fails"
"RROD ******** "
"****** broken"?!
"Is ****** in trouble"?!

Let's start with Sony. Sony basically pioneered gaming of what it is today. From the PS1 to the PS3, the Playstation was the reason I became a hardcore gamer. Resident Evil & Final Fantasy 7 are my classics. I had a Gameshark and it still took me 30 minutes to beat Sepiroth,LOL!! Resident Evil had me jumping on some parts, but the series have me hooked to this day. I know majority of you have the same nostalgia when you remember playing games like these. My first online experience was SOCOM: Navy Seals. As of today, I have made some good friends that we run as a clan today because of this game.

Time passed on and I decided to get a Xbox. The first game I played was Shenmue 2. I was familiar with the series because I also had a Dreamcast. The 70-man battle royal was my favorite part of the game. Then I brought Halo. I was familiar with FPS because I loved Red Faction 1 & 2 on the PS2. I was very happy with both systems. I had to pay for Xbox Live. It didn't matter to me paying for the service. It was kind different talking without pushing a button to talk like I did on SOCOM.

Today, we have the 360 & PS3. Both consoles have great games that we play. From the phoneme of Halo 3 to the graphical powerhouse of Killzone 2, we have games we love to play. So, why is there so much hate for one another?! Speaking for myself, I own both the PS3 & 360. So, I'll never miss out on a AAA game.  Gamers always looking for that game that they can run back and tell others that they enjoyed and should check out. Yes, the PS3 is still expensive to some of you. And the reliability of the 360 scares some of you away.  I had my Elite since day one of lauch and no problems yet (knocks on wood).

For months, I sit back and read articles, blogs and post of majority of people slandering each other for nothing here in N4G. I have AAA titles on all platforms. I still play Halo 3 on Xbox Live. Do you fault me for owing a 360?!  I run with my friends from SOCOM 1 on SOCOM:Confontation on PSN. Does that make me a PS3 Fanboy?!!  Whatever your choice between the 360 or the PS3, just enjoy the games. Despite all the slander you or other people throw at each other, both systems will still sell. Can I determine between who is better than the other?! No. Why?! Because it depends on what the gamer is looking for in a system.

Bottom line is this, just enjoy the games. Do noy let this B.S. rhetoric of PS3 vs. 360  console choice stop you from missing out that a game that could be a "Classic" in your collection.

The Truth...
Loyalists vs. True Gamers

Spike476192d ago (Edited 6192d ago )

has bashed the PS3 since its launch. Along with that the fanboys hopped onto the bandwagon. So in response, there are people that argue against the haters. All fanboys are the same imo it just depends on the situation their console is in.

I admit that I defend the PS3 and some of its games from time to time but only because I hate the fact that there are so many people that can literally hate a game such as Killzone 2 or MGS4. If I had the extra money I would love to buy an Xbox360 and play Gears of War 2 and for the most part Mass Effect 2.

dude I loved the article,

I got into N4G to keep up on the GDC so I've only been around a short while. In my short time I've come to hate the fanboy aspect of this site and it's been under a month. Like you I enjoy games for what they are, ps3 or 360 and will play both for a long time. Great article and thanks for bringing this out.

Thank you my friend, this needs to be said, but sadly it will not be seen by the masses of N4G in my eyes. Which is why you need to make a website (even blogspot would work), make this an "article" and submit it, so it will gain the attention and hopefully some of this unneeded hate will end.

But, either way, I am now tracking you and +bubbles. Thank you.

to be honest i really don't have a problem with all the fanboyism. i think it's rather interesting reading all the crazy, irrational and insecure comments. i understand that this kind of negativity can have an effect on the gaming industry, but i really don't see any direct harm in it. i know many of you will come up with several theories on how this could ruin our favorite hobby, but the truth is it won't. bottom line is, it's not the fanboys that's the problem but those of us who let these fanboys get to us.

Had a strong feeling they'd do this. Ok that's one step inthe right direction. Baby steps because the moment they do anything drastic they step on rakes.

Next give ppl reason to sub for 30$ a month to for GP. Second is the lower the price. They want to return to Xbox they need to be attractive again. Lower price won't sell them out as it's too late this gen but it's something.

I wish it would it have read Microsoft quietly retires Xbox, and just develop/publish games. The Xbox name doesn't mean anything anymore, the 360 era was the best they ever had.
